News (2/19/10): Video To Air Again on PBS The documentary film, Buck Lake Ranch: Nashville of the North, will air for the third time on Public Broadcasting System affiliate WFWA TV-39 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The showing -- scheduled for March 12 -- is again part of the station's pledge drive. Mike VanBuren, writer/producer at Newshound Productions, will appear along with Joe Taylor and Patty Corbett of the Red Birds, a popular regional band that performed for many years at Buck Lake Ranch. WFWA TV-39 will be using copies of the video -- as well as the related history book -- as premiums during the pledge drive. News (2/19/10): Video at Kalamazoo Fretboard Festival Buck Lake Ranch: Nashville of the North, will be a featured attraction at the 2010 Kalamazoo Fretboard Festival. The video documentary will be shown during a 2 p.m. program on Saturday, March 27 at the Kalamazoo Valley Museum in downtown Kalamazoo. Writer/producer Mike VanBuren will also be on hand to answer questions. News (12/23/09): Hot off the Press! Check out this new written history book about Buck Lake Ranch. This 133-page book is a companion to the video documentary that we produced earlier. It parallels the video content, but includes additional photos, visuals and anecdotes that are not in the documentary. Thanks to all who contributed photos, flyers and stories.

News (6/13/09): NPR Reports on Buck Lake Ranch WMUK, the National Public Radio affiliate in Kalamazoo, Michigan, featured a report this past week about the documentary video Buck Lake Ranch: Nashville of the North. The report by staff producer Lorraine Caron included an interview with documentary writer/producer Mike VanBuren, along with audio clips from the film.
